So, day 1, my first video game.

The very first game I can truely recal playing was the first Streets of Rage on the Megadrive. I don’t remember a huge amount about it from back then. All I remember is that it was an awesome game, and I was terrible at it, never made it passed the third stage, though as a kid, that’s probably quite good. It was a challenge in the fact that, as far as I can recall, it had no save points, meaning it all had to be played in one go, which was rather hard as a child. Thank god save points came along, else i’d never finish anything.

However, the game that stick in my mind strongest as being my first true video game was Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64. I dread to think how many hours I wasted on that with my brother, and later, my dad. To this day, it remains my favourite game of all time, even ahead of Rock Band and Pokemon, purely because it was such a strong full on introduction into a world I barely paid any attention too.

15:43 – December 20th 2009 – 100,000 GS reached.

What a weight off the mind, I haven’t played much over the last few days excpet Lost Odyssey as I wanted to take a quick break from this, as it was burning me out, and I actually didn’t play anything for 2 days straight. But, the challenge is now done, I can now retire to the life of non-whoring and gaming for fun.

If you believe that, you’re retarded. Next aim is to 100% Lost Odyssey, as it’ll be my greatest one to date.

What a day, UP finally arrived, and I finished Terminator: Salvation (horrific game). At this rate, i’ll be at 100,000 by Wednesday, so I can take it very easy from here on in. It’s been a lot of fun though.

My lowest total so far, and hopefully my lowest total period for this challenge. But I had a few hours to kill, so I thought I’d reach a milestone with at least a semi-decent game, and certainly enjoyed. So congratulations Lego: Batman, you are my 50th 100%.

Still no UP, bloody annoying, so I went and got Terminator Salvation for an hours play, and gota few achievements, so went better than it could have done.

What a truely crap day. Up didn’t arrive and I got bored of Mini-kits on Lego Batman, so not a huge amount of progress day, as the following totals show:

Very good day today. Completed the Lego: Batman story and i’m now cleaning up all the extras, which will come over the next day or so. I should be getting ‘UP’ tomorrow, which will be an easy 1,000. A couple of hundred in Batman should also go down fairly swiftly. Regardless, here are todays totals.

I might do this sort of challenge at various points over the year as well, it’s giving me a real push to play and i’m really enjoying it. I’m tempted to set 150k by next Christmas, but we’ll see.

Like I said, today wasn’t a hugely productive day, only playing a small part of Banjo Kazooie and Lego: Batman. Still, here’s todays breakdown.

It’s been a very succesful day for me today, including finally getting 100% on Boom Boom Rocket, something i’ve been wanting for ages.

Achievement Challenge – 100,000gs by Christmas

In my wonderful wisdom, having watched Abooie and Nokkon succesfully reach 100k, I decided I should probably join them as well, and so thought of this little challenge for myself.

As it stands, I have a gamerscore of 95,766 which is pretty good. To get 100,000 by Christmas, I need 4,234 points. Christmas is 18 days away at the moment, meaning I need at least 236 points per day to make it. It seems a very workable challenge, and i’ll try and update everyday on how i’m doing, or at least every few days.
